This will not have any effect on any Ledger Entries that have already been posted. You will have to adjust the existing business data manually if it is necessary for your business needs. For easier navigation and identification of Job Tasks that already have related Job Ledger Entries in the system, a warning will appear when the user is trying to change the Contract Type of the Job Task.
