Billing Multiple Customers within one Project

To switch to multiple customers billing method in Jira Connector, go to Jira Connect Setup > Project and enable the toggle Multiple customers per Project:

Important! The change to the Multiple customers per Project option is irreversible

Also note, that the multiple customers billing method requires the Account Field (i.e. Jira/Tempo account) to be set up (in Jira Connect Setup > Connection). In case you do not indicate accounts in Jira tasks, only one customer (from Customer-Project Links) will be billed for all tasks.

The accounts along with their related customers will be displayed in the Tempo Accounts page.

Note: Accounts are imported during the sync process when you use Sync All or Sync Tasks > Import Accounts.

Possible errors after the sync of Projects with multiple customers

1. If you sync the Project that already exists in BC and is set up to have one customer as a billing method (i.e. Multiple customers per Project is disabled), you should switch to multiple customers and recheck. To do this, go to Project Card > Invoice and Shipping > Task Billing Method and select Multiple customers.

2. In you try to sync a task with contract type = None, its worklogs are billed using the project's contract type, that's why you need to have the same customer for the project and the task or indicate the contract type for the task.

To resolve this error, go to Jira and indicate the contract type for the task (other than None!). Alternatively, change the Account to make it the same as in the project.

3. If the synced Jira/Tempo account doesn't exist in BC, you will get an error.

To resolve it, click Sync All (this will import all accounts) or Sync Tasks > Import Accounts

4. If the customer for an account doesn't exist in BC, you will get an error.

To resolve it, indicate the customer for the account, e.g. in the Tempo Accounts page.

5. You cannot change a customer for an already existing task in BC, even if you change it in Jira.

6. If you change a customer for an account in Jira, after the sync you will get a notification about the change of the customer.

You can just click Approve in the error log because this is more a notification rather than an error.
