Fixed Price Contract Type: practical points

  • The first Budget planning line for the Fixed Price Contract Type is always created with the Resource, set up as the Default one in JIRA Connect Setup since the Fixed Price Contract Type expects the Unit Cost/Unit Price for calculation of the planned budget of the Task. This means you may need to review those values before the calculation of the billable line:

  • The Update Budget Prices action will update Project Planning Lines. If the prices were changed but Planning Lines were not updated, then the page will propose to update Planning Lines (this action is available on the Project and Project Task level).

  • Resource on the budget Planning Line should have Atlassian Account ID, otherwise, it will not be updated from Jira. As well as it is also preferable that Default Resource No. does not have an Atlassian Account ID.
  • The first line in the Fixed Price Project Planning Lines represents the planned budget for the task. When the Suggest Billable Lines functionality is run, this sum (Line Amount) is calculated as Quantity (= Original Estimate in Jira) x Unit Price (Unit Price is set up in Update Budget Prices). During the next suggestion of billable lines, the line of Billable type is created with Quantity = 1 and Line Amount = Quantity (Budget) x Unit Price
The Quantity field must not be changed, otherwise the calculation will be broken.
