The Bulk Set Capacity app would greatly save you time in Resource Management within Business Central. Automating the Capacity setting process enables allocating the Resources more effectively, which results in improved planning and execution of Projects.

Note

The functionality is also a part of Jira Connector for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central product and can be used in a complex with its logic.

Typical Usage Scenarios

To calculate how much time a Resource can spend on Projects, their Capacity must first be set up as available time per period on the work calendar.

Scenario 1 (template removal)

1. Select multiple Resources and click Bulk Set Capacity

2. Select the value for the Work-Hour Template field

3. Working hours for each day of the week will be populated from the template.

If you remove the value from the Work-Hour Template, working hours will remain the same, and working hours previously populated from a template will not be removed.

4. After you click Update Capacity, the working hours specified on the Resource Capacity Settings page (populated from the removed template) will be applied.

Scenario 2 (update working hours populated from template)

1. Select multiple Resources and click Bulk Set Capacity
2. If the Work-Hour Template is filled, then the working hours for each day of the week will be populated from the template.
3. After changing the working hours populated from a template for any day of the week, working hours will be changed and the value in the Work-Hour Template field will be removed automatically.
4. After you click Update Capacity, the working hours specified on the Resource Capacity Settings page will be applied.
