Configuration is a series of instructions that make up a page layout.
A Meta UI page can have an unlimited number of configurations. When a page is first added to a package, its default configuration is generated, which can be further modified, and other multiple configurations can be created for this page.
Note: You can set up access to configurations only for certain users (User Groups), thus restricting it to other users.
Below the Configurations menu items are outlined.
The menu items applicable to a specific configuration are also found in the "show-more" (three dots) menu by the configuration's name.
New
Ability to add a new configuration for the page.
In the pop-up dialog, select the Page ID (the page, for which you are creating the configuration) and indicate the configuration Name.
If necessary, set up the filter by user and/or company: the created page configuration will be shown only to the filtered user (user group) within the given company. If you do not set up any filtering, the configuration will be visible for all users and all companies by default.
It is also possible to disable a configuration.
Switch the Disabled toggle button and click OK. After this, the configuration will not be applied to the page view.
Edit Bindings
Ability to set up the selected configuration's attributes:
- edit configuration name, layout type
- disable the configuration (if needed)
- set up users/user groups and companies for the selected configuration
Edit Configuration
By clicking on this menu item, you get into the editor to organize the required view for the page. For detailed guidelines on how to edit page configurations, see Editing Configurations.
Delete Configuration
Ability to delete the selected configurations.
Preview
Users with Meta UI Admin Permissions Set can set up configurations for other users.
To see what the page will look like (for the indicated user/company), use The Preview option.
Find Configuration for User
When you run a page that has multiple configurations enabled, Meta UI chooses the configuration that is most suitable for you as a BC user (as configured in filters).
Find Configuration For User is used to find out which Meta UI configuration a user will see when he runs a page.
Also, see Which configuration will I see if a page has multiple configurations?
Import
Ability to import configurations from other environments (within the current tenant).
